Downhill

Devilish eyes danced in the wind
It all went downhill from there
A cleared throat
The first syllables of a speech

“Carnage, various other things”
Rolling hills of despair set the scene
Skeletons waved compliantly

All those scholars traded barbs in hell
But no longer
“Today is a new day, a new age”
The crowd was split into a smile and a frown
Innumerable in the eyes of diplomat, which were dancing still
The wind died down, but the voice carried strong across the buildings and monuments
